Donaueschingen 1999

Date: July 31 / August 1, 1999

Location: Donaueschingen (Germany)

For many years now, the 2 days exhibition in Donaueschingen stands for an international and "princely" ambience. And so it was again this year. In front of the castle, there was an exhibition with more than 800 registrations (more than 400 each day). Approximately 60% of them came from foreign countries. We had wonderful weather, and it was an exhibition, which surely belongs to the nicest and most important ones of Germany.

An international faculty of judges (8 judges coming from 7 different countries) judged the entered sighthounds. On the first day, the Galgos were judged by Mr. Kelemen from Rumania, on the second day by Mr. Huidrobo from Spain.

A special highlight for all Galgo friends was the "Best in Show" selection. On the first day, the Spanish Galgo bitch Rayma Ukelele got the BIS and on the second day, she was chosen for the best dog of Donaueschingen!

And here are some photos from the exhibition:

Mr. Eckhard E. Schritt, former president of the DWZRV, made an experienced presentation at the ring of honor.

Mr. Schritt welcomes Mr. Frank R. Zwahlen from Switzerland. Mr. Zwahlen traditionally selects the winner of Donaueschingen from the two BIS winners of both days.
