Hangzhou 2025

We travelled on again by train, this time to Hangzhou. Hangzhou is the capital of the Chinese province of Zhejiang and forms the southern end of the Grand Canal, which begins in Beijing. First on the programme was a visit to Longjing Village, including tea tasting (and tea picking) with a farming family, followed by a hike through the tea plantations and a bamboo forest (it was bamboo shoot season).

The next day in Hangzhou, we went for a walk along the West Lake and then visited the old town with the Imperial Canal Museum and the Pharmacy Museum (which is currently still being run as a pharmacy).
