From Shanghai, we travelled on to Suzhou. Suzhou is a city to the west of Shanghai that is known for its canals, bridges and classical gardens. The water village of Tongli, a boat trip through the canals, the garden of the master of fishing nets and the old town of Suzhou with its market halls and special cafés awaited us. And to round off the evening, we enjoyed a very speciality of the region: "squirrel fish".
