So, it was very nice that Little Lobito Akilios, who already won the title "Europasieger" in spring, was again successful and got the title "Bundessieger". But also the other four Lobitos Azuela, Bastian, Benisa and Barbarella gave their best. Ex1, CAC, CACIB, VDH, BS, BOB - Galga (B.: - , O.: Kleemann) "St.-Martins-Coursing" in Issum, October 13For many years, the members of the racing club of Düsseldorf were looking for a new place. On the last weekend, they could finally open their new area with an LCO coursing. On two days with cold but dry weather, 116 sighthounds were entered. 9 Galgos participated in the LCO coursing (two could not go for the second round because of injuries), another four Galgos (Little Lobito Antonio, Cerunnos Ex libris, Little Lobito Álvaro and Little Lobito Alejandra) started for licence runs. Besides their brother Little Lobito Akilios, who already has a coursing licence, now Álvaro and Antonio fulfil the preconditions for the licence. Congratulations to all of them! Results:
Coursing in Ostercappeln, October 5While the weather was very bad, 3 Lobitos (Álvaro, Antonio and Alex) successfully passed their licence runs. Due to heavy rainfalls, the coursing was cancelled after the first round. For the end result, the points of the first run were doubled and then reduced by 1. Results:
Two Days Exhibition on September 7 and 8 in Hannover-HerrenhausenWith nice late summer weather, for the first time, a sighthound exhibition took place in the "Herrenhäuser Gärten" of Hannover/Germany. In addition, the special exhibition of the breed Whippet was organized. 6 judges from five different countries were invited to judge the entered dogs. With 268 dogs on Saturday and 217 on Sunday, a fairly good number of registrations was achieved. And the next time, there will be definitely more entries, because it will be spread around, how nice it was in Herrenhausen. We, at least, very much hope that there will be a next time, because we really liked the exhibition and the ambience. But the highlight for the "Lobitos" was of course the ring of honour, where our Bärbel (Little Lobito Barbarella) got the Puppy Best in Show among 8 dogs (by this, she follows the footsteps of her sister Little Lobito Blava Lluna, who got the Puppy-BIS already at the CAC-exhibition in Münster on May 25). Congratulations to both of them :-) April 15 We are back from Ostercappeln, where the Osnabrücker Windhund-Rennverein invited all sighthound friends for a CAC exhibition and a lure coursing. The most important news just at the beginning: Akilios is well again and he could also participate in the coursing :-) The lure coursing on Sunday was the most exciting part of the weekend, because four "beginners" were at the start: Antonio, Álvaro, Akilios and Alejandra were running in their first coursing. And they did it quiet well. Most of all Antonio, who really knew, how to "hunt the hare" - but also Álvaro and Akilios. For all of them, both runs counted as licence runs. On the first places, of course, there were the "old hands" Conde, Real and Wups (males) and Miel (females). Our little Alex also run a good first round - but in the second, she lost sight of the hare and had to leave the "kill" to her companion. Nevertheless, the run counted and in total, she won the title "beauty and performance" (which we find a little bit undeserved, her 3 brothers run much better and they are at least as beautiful - but these are the rules). All in all, it was a very nice weekend, even though it was very cold. On Sunday, it was also raining, which kept us from taking pictures - although Alex was looking sooooo sweet in her "work clothes" ;-) We promise to do it the next time. All in all, it was a successful weekend for the "Lobitos". Only Little Lobito Akilios had some bad luck: just before entering the ring, he sprained his ankle and could only walk with a limp. His owners were almost going to withdraw him from the competition. Nevertheless, he still got an "Excellent", but this time, of course, he had to leave the first place to Paula's nephew Errol Flynn, who also got Best in Show in the evening - a great success for the breed Galgo Español.
