From Busan, we travelled further south to the Namhae Islands, where we went on a beautiful hike around the Boriam Temple.
Next on the agenda: Suncheon Bay Botanical Garden and the Wetland Reserve, which can be reached from there by cable car. Suncheon Bay is considered one of the most species-rich regions in Korea, home to wetlands and plains that provide habitat for many birds and insects. The botanical garden itself is divided into several sections showcasing different Korean and international garden styles.
We continued on to the Seongsamjae Pass, an important starting point for hikes in the Jirisan National Park. Unfortunately, it was quite foggy and the view was limited. Instead, we drove directly to the Gurye Yeongoksa Temple, where we were able to enjoy a very beautiful hike around a lake. We also hiked from the Ssanggyesa Temple to the Buril Waterfall and visited the Hwaeomsa Temple.
