From the first day on, Uschi was very interested in the puppies of our H-litter. After the puppies left our house and Hilde stayed, Uschi took great care of her. Quickly, a very special Galgo-friendship has developed. Here is a little photo series of them.

What did we say? "Only one window a day!" Unfortunately, Kandis obviously didn't listen, as you can see in our newest Lobito-Post. Hopefully, Ole kept some more calendars in reserve.

Here are the results of the Winner Amsterdam. The "Winner" titles were given to Garabato de Calathea, the father of our soon expected litter, and to his sister Gilda de Calathea. The "Junior winner" went to Grey Mountain Buenaventura. Congratulations!

Ole (left on the picture), one of the three cooks of the German television (Kabel 1) cooking series Fast Food Duell and "Dad" of Kandis and Juni, sent an Advent calendar to our Alex. He wrote: "Hello Alex, this is an Advent calendar. You may open only one window a day!!! Listen, only one! Maybe, you better give the calendar to Claudia and Thomas, because you certainly don't like chocolate ;-) Greetings, Your Ole".

The pleasant anticipation of our expected litter is really big: Talia (10) and Noah (5) already painted pictures of Bärbel, Garabato and their puppies. We are very happy about the paintings and once more heartily say thank you! In addition, the Kindergarten group of Noah now plays "little Galgos" and his mother has to explain to the other parents what Galgos are.

At the international dog exhibition in Utrecht/NL, Little Lobito Habanera (photo) was judged with "very promising" by Mr. Wiersma from the Netherlands. Congratulations!

During our vacations, we've got a lot of new Lobito-Post.

As of today, our Paula is 12 years old! And everybody loves her because of her unmatched gentle and even-tempered character. During the time when we showed her at exhibitions, she was very successful. She is German and international champion of beauty and got the Verbandssieger title in the year 1999. In addition, she really liked running on coursings. But first of all, she is the mother of our litters "A" and "C" and the grandmother of the litters "E" and "F". The photo shows her during our recent vacations at the beach of Narbonne. We heartily wish for her that she keeps on being well and fit for a long time!

Since yesterday, we are back home from our vacations. We spent three weeks in France and Spain, where we met friends, saw many Galgos and, most important, gave our dogs the opportunity to run and play on the giant beaches in France as much as they want. We previously reported about the Concurso of the Spanish Club Nacional del Galgo Español in Sonseca, another report about our journey will follow. All emails which we received in the meantime will be answered soon, please have a little more patience.

In addition to that, it is a pleasure for us to send our cordial congratulations to Little Lobito Ebro (see photo above) for the title "German coursing winner", to Little Lobito Gonzales for the title "Bundessieger" at the exhibition in Tulln/A, and to Little Lobito Hormiga, who was the first of the H-litter being presented on a show. In Rostock/D, she got a "very promising" and turned out to be absolutely unimpressed by the bustling activities around her!

Last weekend, we were in Klaffenbach (located close to Chemnitz in the East of Germany), to participate in the "Landessieger" exhibition and the "2nd DWZRV-Sieger" exhibition. Again, our Lara (Rayma LaClaudia) got 2 x BOB. Anyhow, despite the wonderful location close to the castle, only few Galgos were entered, and some of them even did not show up. Hopefully, there will be more Galgos entered next year. Here is our photo report.

A well organised show with about 900 entries, wonderful weather, unexceptional nice people, 2 x BOB for our Lara (Rayma LaClaudia) and the title "Winner Donaueschingen" for Little Lobito Gonzales and Lara - what more could you ask for? Last weekend, after some years of "abstinence", we again went to the South of Germany, to participate in the 15th Sighthound Festival at Donaueschingen Castle. Here are the results.

Well done again, Little Lobito Gonzales: in his first racing over 480 m on the track of the WRKA Krenglbach, he promptly got the first place! Together with the BOB from the day before, he won the price for beauty and performance. You will find all details, as usual, at Gonzales' Blog.

And just another info: some days ago, a little article about the breed Galgo Español was published in the Tageblatt, a daily newspaper of Luxemburg. We've kindly got the permission to present it as a pdf document.

Here are the results of this year's Special Galgo Exhibition which took place last Saturday in Tüttleben. Photos and report will follow later. At the coursing on the following day, Romanow's Xamara won among the females and Little Lobito Ebro won among the males.

Congratulations to Little Lobito Gonzales, who got the title "Europasieger" on today's international dog show in Dortmund. The second Galgo on the exhibition was Zarandillo Guapa Estrella, who also got the title and the BOB. The judge was Mr. Fischer from Germany.

Congratulations to Lara's brother Rayma Loleilo (B: Gil/Ramos, O: Meissner) for the BOB at the CAC exhibition in Wismar on last Saturday. At the same exhibition, Cordobez do Promontório da Lua (B: Cardita, O: Meissner) got the Junior-BIS, like his brother Bandolero do Promontório da Lua (B: Cardita, O: Rodriguez/ Petrowitz) got at the CAC exhibition in Mammendorf on the same day! In addition, we are happy to announce that our Lara (Rayma LaClaudia) now meets the requirements for the title "German Champion of Beauty".

Today, very early in the morning, our H-litter arrived! Two males and seven females, all brindled and wide awake. The mother as well!

We are currently working on the Galgo Calendar 2009 (DIN A3, 13 coloured pages, 15 Euro). We plan to bring along ordered exemplars to the next Special Galgo Show (we can, of course, also bring them along to another exhibition or send them by mail).

On Sunday, Little Lobito Gonzales once more had a great success: on the international show in Munich, Mr. Brixhe from Belgium awarded him Ex1, VDH, CAC, CACIB, BOB and the title 'Landessieger Bayern' (the female Askari Negra El Gran Matador, entered in the champion class, got an Ex1). But this wasn't it at all! Later, in the ring of group 10, judged by Mr. Sistermann, Gonzales finally got the second place. On February 6 already, Little Lobito Gerónimo and Little Lobito Estrella were shown in Brno/CZ. Both got Ex1, CAC and CACIB, the latter also was BOB. Photos of the exhibition can be found at www.galgo.cz.

But also Little Lobito Gemma and her brother Little Lobito Grisu were busy and sent us new photos for their special pages. Thanks!

Last weekend, Little Lobito Gonzales again was very successful: at the international exhibition in Nürnberg, Mr. Eberhard judged him with Ex1, CAC, VDH and RCACIB. There were also Bandolero do Promontório da Lua (vp), Romanow's Xanthos (Ex1, VDH, CACIB, BOB) and Romanow's Beryll (g). As we can see due to many requests, a lot of people miss our Galgo Calendar this year. Unfortunately, during the last year we were very busy with our book about the Galgo Español, so there was no time left for the calendar 2008. Nevertheless, we already started the preparations for the Galgo Calendar 2009, and we hope to have it ready by the date of the next special German Galgo exhibition which is going to take place in May.
